Welcome to the Lake City Museum!
One of the objectives of this web site is to share Hinsdale County and Lake City's past. If you have photo's that relate to our early history, information on events, stories of your family when they lived here or other tidbits that might be of interest, please share them with us.
June through September, the museum is staffed by volunteer docents. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. They will be happy to find out any answers they don't know at the time. When open, the Museum is the starting point for several tours that educate the public on the history of our community. All tours are individually unique and of interest to all ages.
It's Springtime and the Museum's 2015 Opening Day - May 23 - is fast approaching!
And, with everything starting to "wake up" around here, we're energized and focused on keeping our past ALIVE with exciting and informative exhibits, tours, presentations and preservation projects.
Want to join our efforts? Print out our new membership/donation form via the link under the Hinsdale County Historical Society heading and show your support today! A membership/donation form will be mailed to past supporters by the end of March.
